Q1 2025: Fueling Change, Protecting Beauty: J.W. Couch Foundation Awards Latest Round of Grants

At the J.W. Couch Foundation, we believe in the power of stories, places, and people. That's why, each year, we partner with nonprofit organizations across the country that not only do the work but also inspire others to join in. We're thrilled to announce our latest round of grants, awarded to changemakers working across the Foundation's three core pillars: Preservation, Education, and Wellness.

These new grants represent more than financial support—they're a testament to shared values, bold visions, and a collective belief in a better future.

Preservation: Defending the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Our World

From the wetlands of the Everglades to the piney woods of East Texas, we are proud to support organizations preserving the beauty and biodiversity of our planet and culture:

  • Path of the Panther — Amplifying the story of Florida's elusive wild cat to protect a broader corridor of life across the southeastern U.S.
  • The Menil Foundation — Safeguarding world-class art and architecture while making cultural access free and open to all.
  • Alaqua Animal Refuge — Creating a model sanctuary for animals and educating communities on humane treatment and coexistence.
  • Houston Audubon — Championing bird conservation in one of the most ecologically diverse migratory flyways in the country.
  • Jackson Wild — Elevating conservation storytelling through film and media on a global stage.
  • E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation — Continuing the mission of Dr. Wilson to preserve half the Earth for nature and all future generations.

Education: Nurturing the Next Generation of Thinkers, Artists, and Leaders

Education must ignite curiosity and possibility. Our recent grantees are building access to learning, creativity, and discovery in communities of every kind:

  • Neuhaus Education Center — Empowering teachers with science-based literacy training to close learning gaps and unlock futures.
  • Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra — Enriching lives through music, education, and performance in the Southwest.
  • Boys and Girls Country Houston — Providing a nurturing home and educational support for children in need of stability and love.
  • South Walton Montessori — Cultivating independence, joy, and lifelong learning in the next generation.
  • The Nature Conservancy — Integrating environmental education with hands-on learning to spark stewardship in young minds.
  • Snake River Fund — Promoting river education and conservation in one of America's most cherished natural playgrounds.

Wellness: Healing Hearts, Minds, and Communities

True wellness begins with empathy and flourishes with care. These organizations are lifting lives and providing support systems where they're needed most:

Each of these grants reflects the J.W. Couch Foundation's unwavering belief in the people and organizations working to make the world more vibrant, equitable, and alive.

To the teams behind these missions: thank you. Your courage to protect, educate, and heal continues to inspire our journey, and we're honored to walk beside you.

Let's keep storytelling. Let's keep building. Let's keep giving.
