Last year marked the fifth anniversary of the J.W. Couch Foundation, and it's been extraordinary to reflect on all that we've accomplished.
Over five years ago, my grandfather left behind a beautiful gift that has sent me down a path of no return. It has been the honor of my life to carry on his charitable spirit and establish a legacy that will transcend generations of our family. Every charitable program we have established reflects our families' passions that were fostered by my grandfather growing up. Even his entrepreneurial spirit has impacted our decisions to think outside the box and experiment with various ways to help communities in need.

To date, we have given nearly $10 million to organizations worldwide. We've participated in direct charitable activities to help nonprofit organizations raise greater awareness with high-production video assets and provided technical assistance to numerous boards. All the video content we have helped produce has nearly 2 million views online and millions of additional views on television. Teams are using the content to create awareness, recruit talent, build networks of volunteers, raise funds, and more.
I've personally read almost 2,000 grant applications, and each has humbled me with the level of work and commitment being made to tackle some of the world's most significant challenges. While we can't approve every grant application submitted, we've tried our best to facilitate other connections that can help more fantastic teams looking to impact their communities positively.
The philanthropy industry in 2022 saw an exciting amount of growth and progress, with new opportunities to leverage technology for a more significant impact. Individuals, corporations, nonprofits, and foundations are joining forces to create meaningful change worldwide. These advances have enabled donors to shift their focus towards social entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy initiatives that offer a chance to make long-term investments with measurable outcomes. The future of this sector lies in collaboration among all players involved - from individual donors to corporate sponsorships - if we genuinely want our collective efforts to drive tangible positive change on a global scale.

As we move into another year, we must keep regularly evaluating the impact of our grants and learning from successes and failures to make improvements that will help communities around the globe. We also will continue to do our best to be transparent and share our findings with the broader sector. Together, we can adjust our strategies and have a greater collective impact.
